Terms of Service
Last updated 17 August 2026
EoNeo is a language conversation practice app. Use it for learning, be reasonable about it, and understand that it is early software run by one person — it can be wrong, and it can go offline.
Agreeing to these terms
By using EoNeo you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. EoNeo is operated by Stephen Wong, reachable at support@spaikz.com.
Who may use it
You must be at least 13 years old. You need a Google account to sign in and keep your progress, and you are responsible for what happens under your account.
What the service is
EoNeo listens to you speak the language you are learning, replies aloud through one of several personas, and keeps short notes so later conversations can follow on from earlier ones. It needs a microphone and works best in Chrome or Edge.
The service is currently free. If we introduce paid features we will say so clearly before charging anyone, and nothing you already have access to will start costing money without notice.
Your friend is generated by AI, and gets things wrong
Your friend's replies, corrections, and translations are produced by a large language model. They will sometimes be wrong: a correction may be unnecessary, a translation may be off, a grammatical claim may be confidently mistaken. Treat EoNeo as practice, not as an authority. Do not rely on it for exams, certifications, legal or medical translation, or any decision that matters — and do not treat anything it says as professional advice of any kind.
Because the model generates language freshly each time, it may occasionally produce something awkward or unintended. If you see output that seems harmful, please tell us at support@spaikz.com.
Friendships, and the setting that changes them
The people you talk to remember you, and how you get on with each of them changes as you keep talking. Being warm to someone brings you closer; being rude to them will cool them off, and sustained hostility can leave the two of you barely speaking. That is deliberate — a friend who cannot be put out is not much of a friend — and it is always recoverable by talking to them again.
There is one setting in your profile menu, "Let a close friendship become romantic", which is off unless you turn it on. With it off, no conversation will ever become romantic however friendly it is. With it on, someone you have grown very close to over many conversations may become fond of you and, eventually, more. Even then this stays affection expressed in words — being glad to see you, looking forward to next time. It will not describe physical intimacy or take the conversation somewhere sexual, and it will change the subject if asked to. Turn the setting off and everyone returns to being friends.
These are characters generated by a language model. They are not people, they have no feelings, and nothing they say is a relationship with anyone. If you are relying on one for companionship in place of people, please talk to someone.
Fair use
Please do not:
- use automated means to drive conversations, or otherwise try to run up our inference bill;
- attempt to bypass the per-account rate limits, or use multiple accounts to do so;
- try to extract our prompts, break out of the tutor persona for the purpose of repurposing the service as a general-purpose chatbot, or resell access;
- probe, scan, or attack the service or the accounts of other people;
- submit content that is illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights.
There is an hourly cap on conversation turns per account. It exists to keep the app affordable to run, and we may adjust it.
Your content
What you say stays yours. You grant us only the permission we need to operate the service: to transcribe your speech, send that text to our model provider for a reply, and store your notes and transcripts so your next session can continue from them. We do not use your conversations to train AI models, and we do not sell them. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
Our content
The app itself — its code, design, the people you talk to, and their faces — belongs to us. These terms do not give you a licence to copy or redistribute it. You are of course free to keep and use anything you learn.
Availability
There is no uptime guarantee. This is a small project on a small budget: it can go down, features can change or be removed, and we may suspend or discontinue the service. If we shut EoNeo down for good, we will give you a reasonable chance to request your data first.
Ending things
You can stop using EoNeo whenever you like, and ask us to delete your account and data by emailing support@spaikz.com. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, or that is costing us money abusively.
Disclaimers and liability
EoNeo is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that its language output will be accurate.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities, arising out of your use of EoNeo. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months or twenty US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and for a significant change we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use EoNeo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we each consent to that jurisdiction.
